Substantive or developmental editing
I call this ‘big picture editing’. I’ll look at your plot, characters and setting. I may need to trim off extraneous detail that
detracts from the core of the plot. It picks up errors and inconsistencies. The
level of intervention will vary from book to book, but most novels benefit from
a degree of developmental editing.
Copy-editing or line editing
This level of editing involves correcting errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation,
style and fact-checking.
With proofreading, I’ll review the final draft of a piece of writing to ensure consistency and accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation and formatting. It’s usually the final stage of my editing process.
You can hire me to create pieces of content for you as a personal brand or for your organisation.
This can be as simple as blog posts, or as complex as biographies.
I can offer advisory on content strategy, book writing and marketing and much more
I can oversee the tasks involved in overseeing the journey of a manuscript from the end of the writing process to printing and/or electronic publication including sourcing and managing vendors.
I offer training on a wide number of topics including business writing, communication skills, etc.
